Stage 2 · Pregnancy
Pregnancy & antenatal
Through every trimester, our obstetricians, midwives and Parentcraft team help you stay well and feel ready — with check-ups, scans and classes at a pace that suits you.
Antenatal care
Trimester check-ups
Regular reviews with your obstetrician to keep you and your baby well through each trimester.
Scans & screening
Ultrasound scans and screening (including the ~18–20 week anomaly scan) at the right times.
Parentcraft classes
Antenatal, breastfeeding and baby-care classes to prepare you and your partner.
Prenatal care
Through your trimesters
Your obstetrician guides you at every stage, with the right check-ups and screening at the right time.
- Trimester 1
Weeks 1–12
Confirm your pregnancy by ultrasound, check your baby's heartbeat and estimate your due date, with initial prenatal tests. Early screening can monitor your baby's development and check for conditions such as Down syndrome.
- Trimester 2
Weeks 13–24
Energy often returns and you may feel your baby's first movements. Regular ultrasounds include the fetal anomaly scan around 18–20 weeks, plus screening for gestational diabetes and anaemia — a good time to join a maternity tour and antenatal classes.
- Trimester 3
Weeks 25–40
Ultrasounds monitor your baby's growth and position, and a Group B Streptococcus (GBS) screen is done around 35–37 weeks. Visits become more frequent — a good time to arrange confinement care and pack your hospital bag.
